the flowers are drawings of a penstemom, coneflower, partridge pea, and aromatic asters; all from our backyard native rain garden
the geometric pattern comes from a tiling of the sphere according to an icosahedron (think of the dice in Dungeons & Dragons, an imaginative game that we continue to connect through)
we made them at next chapter studio

in southern the u.s., there is a tradition of a “groom’s cake” traditionally served at the rehearsal dinner, a tradition fondly remembered by nati’s parents from when they got married in houston. we have adapted this tradition to have three cakes of the same size and meaning at our party (one claudio, one nati, one both). to decorate them, we’re working with hark bakery and are inspired by some of our favorite childhood aesthetics—claudio from the sandia mountains and nati from the dreamy urban landscapes of sailor moon 🌙⛰️✨

for our rings, we each used one stone from one grandparent and made custom bands with our family friend, tula zimic leo, from peruvian silver
taking connected sums (that’s the little # guy) is a topological process of joining two bodies together
